Sweaty Mommy Survival Guide Tip #2: Love Your Running Stroller
#Fitmom wisdom: "I love popping the kids in the running stroller and heading outside, everything just seems better when you're out in the fresh air and after a hit of endorphins I know I feel like I can tackle anything my busy life as a mum throws at me." - @running_girl_fit
The transition to motherhood comes with a lot of cool accessories. For #fitmoms this includes a runner stroller! The runner stroller will become your new best friend; ensuring a good workout while soothing baby. Here are a few running stroller tips to keep you on the move.
Test drive before you buy. Even if you're planning to purchase a stroller online, head into a brick and mortar store to test-drive a few. Stores often have display models assembled and are usually happy to have you take it for a spin through the aisles. Checking the handlebar height, steering, and wheel locks will help ensure a good purchase and a quality run with baby.
Keep a portable pump handy. Running stroller tires are like bike tires; occasionally, they’ll need to be inflated. Nothing is more frustrating than getting all set for a run and having a flat tire slow you down. Keeping an easily accessible stroller or bike pump around will have you on the go in no time.
Hose it off. Between snacks, blowouts, spit-ups and other kid messes, the running stroller can get a little gross. Crumbs, dirt, and grime can collect on the seats in no time. Hosing it off every so often will keep your chariot looking like new. You can dry it by leaving out in the sun for a few hours.
The real deal: You will get a total body workout. Pushing a running stroller is definitely different than running solo, and it will take some adjustment. Be mindful of your form and expect to move a little slower while you're getting used to your new running buddy.
