Pulling the PB [&] J Out Of The Pantry
The PB [&] J is a space for moms to be sometimes sweet, sometimes salty, but always all naturally you! We’re THRILLED to bring back this feature with some new flavor!
The PB [&] J first launched in January 2017 as a vehicle to continue the conversations off social media and go a bit deeper into the realities of managing life as a #fitmom. Without the constraints of character limits, moms could share more tips, lessons learned, and challenges of maintaining the Pump the Bump philosophy. It was a wonderful way to connect with our followers but the coordination required more time than anticipated. Admittedly, our approach of recruiting bloggers, posting, managing expectations, etc. was not sustainable given our other goals we were working on. So the PB [&] J was put on the shelf.
Just in case it wasn’t clear…
PB [&] J = Pump the Bump Journal (see it now?)
When the concept of the Sweaty Mommy Survival Guide came together in June 2017, it was a much smoother fit to showcase the energy and expertise of our talented blogging members. But the PB [&] J kept tugging on our heartstrings. Who in our Pump the Bump community could we learn from? Who has a recipe for success that we’d all benefit from hearing more about?
Then mompreneur Kim Wood introduced herself and shared the startup story of PopYum. Out of the blue, she submitted a message through our contact us webpage. A bold mama always grabs our attention! Her passion behind launching a new product and making her dream come to life on Kickstarter left us with so many questions. I thought if it left us curious... it would do the same for you.
The timing of Pump the Bump working with affiliate programs and getting to learn the amazing backstories of some of your favorite brands had us gathering up the ingredients to relaunch the PB [&] J. We can feature mompreneurs and small family start-ups designing products and programs that make the #fitmomtobe and #fitmom life easier to start AND sustain.
Every mompreneur has a story. And similar to setting fitness goals, there was a lightbulb moment or an experience that was the tipping point for turning wishful thinking into goals worth investing in. We can relate. Pump the Bump was started as a complete leap of faith in 2014 and continues to grow because we’ve created a safe space of empowerment and authenticity.
So it’s time to pull PB [&] J out of the pantry!
We’ll share stories behind the moms and the brands who believe in our #fitfamily goals. We’ll also share peanut butter and jelly recipes with creative healthy twists on the age-old family favorite.
As moms, our ultimate goal in building a business, or making a sandwich, is to create a happy home for our families. Even if our journeys appear different on the outside, and our ingredients are put together in unique ways, we’ll all striving to do better and be better. Let the sticky fingers bind us together.
