Hitting the final click of the button before our first newsletter reached you this week, took a prayer and a silent push from my instincts. But I knew... that moment wasn't about me. It was about YOU!
The fear I had in sending a little slice of myself out into the world was comforted by the thought that I would reach someone who needed our messages as much as I needed them back in 2013 when I had my #fitpregnancy journey. As my intro said, we have finally found each other.
Confession: I started Pump the Bump because I was looking for you.
I didn’t know there were so many of you out there, but I’m so glad we have found each other. Pump the Bump grew out of an inspiring conversation I had with my doctor when I was pregnant with my little girl, L. When I asked the doctor if I could continue to work out, she turned to me and firmly said, “Pregnancy is a state of health. Being active is good for both you and the baby!” And so I started looking for you, for #fitmoms everywhere. As a single mom, in the midst of a drastic renovation of our home (which I bought for $1 -- true story!), I needed community. I needed to keep up my sanity-preserving fitness routines. And later I realized, maybe around the 15k follower mark, that we all need that. We are truly a worldwide community of women, and we’ve joined together on a mission to make prenatal fitness look good on you from bump to baby, and support maternal well-being from pregnancy to parenthood.
